Waterproof 3-layer shell pants: This refers to pants that consist of three layers to ensure water resistance and breathability. The outer layer is waterproof and protects against moisture. Water column/breathability 20K/15K: The water column is a measure of the water resistance of the material. 20K means that the material is able to withstand a water pressure of 20,000 millimeters before it becomes permeable.
